Bulgarian contribution to Euro-Argo ERIC and the Argo program

In 2024, the IO-BAS team deployed two Argo floats in the Black Sea.

The first float (WMO 7902191) was deployed in June 2024 during the H2020 DOORS cruise in the Georgian sector of the Black Sea aboard the R/V Mare Nigrum. The second float (WMO 6990663) was deployed in July 2024 within Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) during the R/V Academik survey. Both floats are ARVOR-I models, equipped with SBE CTD and AADI optode sensors

BulArgo is implemented with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science
